Dr. McElhinney, Orthodontist

Dr. Bob McElhinney, a native Kentuckian, has practiced exclusively as an Orthodontic Specialist in Stow, Ohio for over 35 years.

His undergraduate studies at the University of Cincinnati were followed by graduation at the top of his class at the University of Louisville School of Dentistry. He completed his post-graduate specialty training in Orthodontics at the prestigious Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia.

Due to his insatiable curiosity and commitment to life-long learning, he has pursued a career-long interest in orthodontic innovations and their application to improved, comfortable, and efficient treatment experiences for his patients.

Advanced orthodontic technology coupled with decades of experience and refinement has resulted in his laser focus on crafting customized smiles that are way beyond straight teeth. His outcomes are uniquely tailored for each individual patient.

To obtain optimal benefits of jaw function, airway, as well as aesthetics for many patients, he coordinates treatments with ENT and Oral Surgeons, Physical Therapist, Speech Pathologists and other dental and medical specialist.

He is a Life Member of the American Association of Orthodontists, Diplomate of the American Academy of Pain Management, and member of other local dental societies.

Dr. “Mac” has been awarded by his peers as the area’s Top Orthodontists since 2008 by the Cleveland Magazine and Akron Life Magazine in their Top Dentist issues.

Away from the practice he enjoys spending time with his wife, Beverly as they try to keep up with their three adult children and their expanding families. Weather permitting he may occasionally be found on a golf course.
